If you’re like me, you recently finished taking a lot of holiday trash to the curb, including cardboard boxes, wrapping paper and maybe even a Christmas tree.

Well, imagine if you couldn’t take out the trash at all. What if all of that holiday trash—plus all of the other garbage you accumulate over a week—simply piled up in your home? Imagine the impact it would have on your life.

This is exactly what happens in many cases of venous disease because it is our veins that are responsible for taking out the body’s trash. They remove metabolic waste including lactic acid and many other acidic chemicals, and when your veins don’t function properly they cannot effectively remove the trash. That means these toxic chemicals build up in your lower legs, creating pain, swelling and many other symptoms.

However, today’s leading-edge varicose vein treatments solve this problem relatively easily and allow your venous system to once again “take out the trash.”

Right now is a good time to start varicose vein treatments because you can complete your insurance company’s compressing stocking requirement during the cooler winter months and be on the road to healthier legs by this summer. There are even new procedures coming that may allow you to skip compression socks altogether.
